Humorist Books Releases Pick-Up Parody ‘Getting the Girl: A Gentleman’s Guide to Seduction, Allurement, and Beguilance’ From Deluded Alpha-Male Andrew Munge

NEW YORK, NY – Like his iconic predecessors Mystery, Neil Strauss, and Glenn Quagmire, Andrew Munge is a self-styled expert on the exciting, titillating, and artful world of sensual seduction. “Self-styled” is the key phrase there. It’s clear from Getting the Girl, his shockingly unflattering memoir/instruction book, Andrew Munge has no game and no clue. And that’s not just with women — it’s with his entire mess of a life. This epic account of angry loser-dom — and what not to do to land a date — is all here in Getting the Girl: A Gentleman’s Guide to Seduction, Allurement, and Beguilance (ISBN: 978-1-954158-20-7).

Getting the Girl is an irony-soaked work of meta-fiction, tracking the life of an awful man who doesn’t know how awful he is from his own point of view. A pillar of toxic masculinity in a golden age of blustery self-promotion, Andrew Munge doesn’t know that the world is laughing at him, and not listening to him, as he doles out useless and misguided advice on how to show other guys how to “decode the she-code.” Getting the Girl is an epic tale of an ordinary, underachieving man, a satire of the tropes of toxic masculinity.

“There are so many beta boys and semi-men who struggle to navigate women that I had to author Getting the Girl to help them,” Andrew Munge yelled over the phone. “As I punched this book to life, I would harken back to nine-year-old Munge, getting ready for his first date with Sadie Wart. When I got there, I discovered it wasn’t a date at all, but a birthday party. Sadie asked me to leave and the very next her family moved away. It was my worst birthday ever. It was my birthday, too.”

PRAISE:
“A satirical poison pill: once the belly laughs end, you are left with a gut-wrenching jealousy of these two idiots’ wonderful creation. I hate Munge. I hate that I didn’t create Munge. Well done, assholes.”
– Keith James, author of ‘Greg Maxwell’s INFERNO’

About the Authors

“Andrew Munge” is, thankfully, not a real person, but a persona created by Ontario-based writers Paul Moncrieffe and Stan Goodyear, a veteran of the Second City and a journalist and stand-up, respectively. Following collaborations on numerous animated projects for PBS, Teletoon, and Cartoon Network, Getting the Girl is the duo’s first book.
